Does your cat scratch your furniture? Is he acting bizarre? Are you frustrated by your cat’s weird behavior? Then don’t worry, we‘ve got you covered.

Cats are generally known as mysterious animals. The behavior of a cat depends on various causes. A study has shown that 77% of cat owners face feline behavioral issues. It’s predicted that one of the most common reasons for death among cats is their behavior problems.

Here we are going to discuss how can you solve the most common issues caused by naughty cats.

Litter Box Avoidance:

Is your cat not using the litter box? Cats stop using the litter box for reasons like stress, uncleanliness, or they might be facing any medical condition. The first step is to take your cat to the vet for a checkup and see if everything is Alright.

The second step you need to consider is to keep the litter box very clean. Cats are very particular that their litter box should be clean. Like humans, cats also don’t like their toilets to be dirty.

Destructive Scratching:

Cats scratching behavior usually occurs because of stress or anxiety. Sometimes they also scratch to play or to mark their territory. Buy your cat some scratch posts so that your furniture doesn’t get damaged. Also, trim your cat’s nails every once in a while to help prevent destructive scratching.

Cat Aggression:

The easiest way to deal with a cat’s aggressive behavior is to notice the cause behind it. It can be illness, lack of attention, or overcrowding of people. Give your feline friend some time and attention, and try playing with him more often. Also, provide him with a food and water bowl, a clean litter box and some toys, and even medication if necessary.

Urine Marking:

Most people think that cats spray because they seem to mark their territory, but that isn’t just the only case they do that. This type of behavior usually appears among male cats. When a cat sprays, it twists its tail back up and sprays urine all over. They usually do it on vertical objects.

The spraying of a cat indicates the medical cause or hideous condition of a litter box. You can neuter or spay your cat to prevent this urine marking behavior. Even after neutering, 10% of neutered males and 5% of spayed females still spray urine.

Yowling Of A Cat In Heat:

When a female cat is in heat, she tends to start meowing and yowling. It becomes very vocal and talkative to grab the attention of a male cat. This process is repeated after every 18–24 days throughout the cat’s eight-month breeding season.

The easiest way of getting through this season is to get your cat spayed. If your cat has been spayed and still vocalizing a lot lately, then it is obvious that something is wrong. Never ignore the cat’s vocalization.

Wrapping up!

We hope that this article helps you in solving your cat’s behavioral issues. Make sure to stay calm and handle your feline friend with extra love and care. Also, take your cat to the veterinarian in times of need. Because there isn’t a single issue that the veterinary hasn’t dealt with that you have with your cat.
